QCAS 2026: What Does It Take to Scale Quantum Systems?

A look ahead to the third Quantum Computing Applications and Systems Workshop, co-located with IEEE/ACM ICCAD 2026.

What has to come together before a quantum demonstration becomes a useful system? QCAS 2026 frames that question across hardware, software and the classical systems needed to support fault-tolerant computation.

Four connected areas of work

The announced tracks cover quantum error correction at scale, fault-tolerant compilation, distributed quantum architectures, and quantum control and co-design. Together they connect the challenge of protecting quantum information with the challenge of operating a complete machine.

An invitation to work in progress

The official workshop page lists November 12, 2026 in San Jose, with a call for posters and a tentative program. This is a look ahead to the announced event; the program may change. Follow the organizers’ website for current registration, submission and schedule details.
